Manila-bound in a couple of days, after 4.5 years! My laundry list of to-do's (in random order):
1. Eye check
2. Teeth check (I feel like a race horse)
3. A good ol' shiatsu (ooooooooooh!)
4. Hair cut at Eve's
5. Bank
6. Visit grave of EBC, mentor at old law firm
7. Tagaytay
8. Time with mom shopping
9. Time with mom eating, eating and more eating (plus cooking!)
10. Time with mom chillin'
11. Eating, eating and more eating
12. Trip to P&F law firm re potential work; and an appointment with a government agency involving a case.
2007 has been crazy and hectic. I've travelled around so much and been in Chicago about 10 days total so far,... it's been just one huge paperchase after the other. This week has been worse as I juggle work (including midnight overseas calls), plus personal errands for the coming trip. When I come home, I do more work, and plop on the bed when I can do no more. I barely have time to catch my breath. I don't feel good about myself that when C calls I am usually catching the bus, at the courier's, in the middle of another call, about to run out to the next place .... there's always something, and we seem to end up "blitz-talking", just firing away quickly on how our respective days have been. But, that's life, and I will make it up to him (soon, honey!). For now, I've pretty much crossed-off every thing I need to bring with me. Packing begins tomorrow. I always travel light... it's the best way, if not the only one, for a clumsy, skinny woman like me.
The jump from Chicago-freeze to Manila-hot is going to be major (read: drastic). There is also the humidity to contend with. But I so look forward to this trip, and will keep you posted in the days to come. Now, where's my camera....

Wish I can go with you....since you are travelling light...I guess that means no!!!
Anyways, have fun in Manila ... hi to your mom and dad!!!
I hope you get a chance to see my mom too.
Hi Ashley! Oh my goodness- I'd love to go to a hot place right now, and time eating all of that good food would be great to boot! You're going to keep us posted, right? And I hope you'll be hitting some of those spots mentioned in the dessertcomesfirst blog? Please, please, please :-)

Have fun in Manilla, and yes it will be such a temp shock. Lucky you.
I've never been to that side of the world yet.
Hoping to jet off to New Zealand when kids are self sufficient.
We will be back in the UK in June for my step-daughters wedding in Cyprus.
Isle of Man, been there twice, and a very good friend of mine, well 2 actually rode there in the 70's.
I never got to ride my bike there though, as I split with my first husband shortley after returning from there.
Its very pretty too.
You must get up to the Lake District if you can, and also try for the Cotswolds.Warwick Castle is another fine place to stalk.
How long will you be in Manchester for?
I will be in Manchester for about 2 weeks, possibly spread over 3 weekends.
I have in fact been to Warwick Castle in the Spring last year (April 2006). The Castle is now run by the group that runs the Madame Trussaud Wax Museum which translates to pricey entrance fees and presentation of the Castle and its grounds in a rather "commercial" way. I guess I was slightly disappointed although it IS an awesomely beautiful castle, and I liked the turbine and the functional machine house at the back. I thought that was cool.
I love York, and enjoyed my visits to London, Oxford and Cambridge, Stratford-u-Avon, and Canterbury. There's a lot more to my list of favorites, but I worry that I'd bore you. I also thought Stonehenge was awesome, just to imagine the sense of community of the builders, their unity of purpose, the management of the logistics, the science behind the design of it... it's really a big puzzle and fun to imagine. There's just so much history around you in the UK, and part of your everyday life! That is just amazing.
Yeah, I am glad to see you back on! You need to update your blog girl! When do you go to England again? I am sorry I totally forgot already. We go to England in Sep 2008 and my sister is moving there in July this year! How fun!
